Запретил использование труда детей, не достигших 16-летнего возраста. Действие закона коснулось более 60 млн. рабочих и служащих. В 1985 Верховный суд США [ Supreme Court, U.S.] распространил его действие на работников государственных организаций штатов и местного уровня
